Prof. Stender was appointed to the position of organist at the St. Mary`s Church in Lübeck in 1973. In this famous church (Dietrich Buxtehude worked here from 1667 to 1707) he has performed 50 to 70 concerts each year with varying programmes.His repertoire has included the most significant works from the Baroque to modern times. Time and again he has interpreted the entire organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude.Numerous CD / DVD recordings (www.ornamentrecords.de) demonstrate his versatility. He has adapted numerous symphonies by Bruckner, Beethoven, Schubert , Dvor`ak for the organ and recorded them on CD. My brother would be very glad if there is a possibility to visit the FABBRICA D ` ORGANI MASCIONI in Azzio.

Il Nuovo Organo

La Cattedrale di Tokyo è un monumento architettonico del nostro tempo, edificata nei primi anni 60 su disegno dell¹architetto Kenzo Tange.  
L'organo, realizzato nel 2004, si inserisce a completarne in maniera degna e significativa l'arredo. E' collocato in cantoria sopra l'ingresso principale ed è  uno dei pochi strumenti in Giappone su cui è possibile riproporre la musica organistica in un contesto differente dalla "sala da concerto", restituendole sacralità e profondità.
Le sonorità sono chiare e trasparenti, progettate per risuonare nell'acustica riverberante della chiesa.
Lo strumento si presenta come un'opera costruita nel rispetto della antica tradizione organaria ma con la volontà di essere un organo moderno e versatile, al servizio della liturgia e della musica. Particolare cura è stata posta nell'intonazione di alcuni registri tipicamenti italiani, disegnati secondo le misure di Antegnati e collocati nel Positivo tergale.
La meccanica particolarmente leggera, nonostante le dimensioni dello strumento, permette all'organista un perfetto controllo del tocco.
Il temperamento leggermente inequabile (5 quinte pure, 5 quinte strette di 1/6 di comma, 2 quinte strette di 1/12 di comma) conferisce bellezza timbrica alla sonorità generale, pur consentendo l'uso di tutte le tonalità.

The new organ

Tokyo cathedral is a monument of our time, built in the early 60s according to the plans of the architect Kenzo Tange.
The organ, built in 2004 is a worthy completition of the interior of the cathedral; it is located on the balcony above the main entrance and is one of the few instruments in Japan on which is possible to propose organ music in a contest different from the concert hall, giving back to it its sacred and spiritual nature.
The sounds are clear and transparent, designed to resonate in the large acustic of the church. The instrument reflects the old organ building traditions but is also a modern and flexible instrument, conceived to be used for liturgies and concerts. Special care was put in the intonation of tipical italian stops, constructed after the measurements of Antegnati and disposed in the Positiv. The lightness of the action, in spite of the large dimension of the instrument, allows the organist a perfect control of the touch.
The slightly unequal temperament (5 pure fifths, 5 fifths 1/6 of a comma narrow, 2 fifths 1/12 of a comma narrow) gives beauty to the general sound, allowing anyway the use of all the keys.
 

Beschreibung

Das Instrument wird in der Empore oberhalb des Haupteingangs aufgestellt, als Ersatz des existierenden Instruments mit elektrischer Traktur.
Vielleicht handelt es sich dabei um eine der wenigen Orgeln in Japan in dem es möglich ist, in einer anderen, verschiedenen Art die Musik zu präsentieren, wie wir sie aus dem “Konzertsaal” kennen. Somit wird die Tiefe und der Klang des authentischen Repertoire wiedergegeben (auf diese Weise nimmt die Disposition besondere Rücksicht des Repertoire von J.S. Bach).
Die Kathedrale von Tokyo ist ein architektonisches Monument unserer heutigen Zeit. Die Orgel fügt sich , sei es als architektonische Linie, wie auch ais Qualitäts-Objekt zur würdigen Ergänzung einer bedeutenden Einrichtung.
Die Traktur wird mechanisch für die Klaviaturen und Pedal sein, einschließlich Koppeln, während den Antrieb der Registertraktur elektrisch mit Setzeranlage ist.
Einschenklige Klaviaturen für alle drei Manuale wird eingestellt sein und vom Typ selbst registrierend.
